Absorber

What is an Absorber?

An absorber is a process vessel used to remove specific gases, vapors, or impurities from a gas stream by bringing it into contact with a liquid solvent. Inside the absorber, the target components dissolve into the liquid through a mass transfer process known as absorption, while the treated gas exits the vessel with reduced contaminant levels.

Absorbers are widely used in the oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, fertilizer, and power industries for gas purification, emissions control, and product recovery. Depending on the application, absorbers may be designed as packed columns, tray columns, or spray towers to maximize gas-liquid contact and separation efficiency.
